WE ARE BOOKING IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS. IF YOU PREFER A VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT PLEASE SELECT THIS OPTION. THANK YOU
As of May 3, 2021, virtual visits will be subsidized by the International Breastfeeding Centre and provided to you at no cost. You must have a referral for both you and your infant(s), as well as a valid Ontario Health Card/OHIP number for both you and the infant(s), in order to book a no-cost visit. We are offering this virtual care option to patients due the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulties faced by families due to the recent Ontario stay-at-home order.
Make an appointment below.
Please only use this form to book a follow-up appointment if you have been to the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic with your current baby(s) within the last 12 months. Thank you.
Once you have scheduled an appointment, you will be able to cancel or reschedule the appointment without penalty up to 48-hours before the appointment (not including Fridays, weekends and holidays). For appointments scheduled on a Monday, you will be able to cancel or reschedule until 4pm on the Thursday before.
If you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 48-hours in advance, as outlined above, we are unable to provide a refund.
Tongue-tie and lip-tie assessments are generally performed at each visit at the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic. We may recommend tongue and/or lip-tie release(s) as part of your care plan based on our physical exam of the area(s), our assessment of the latch, presenting breastfeeding challenges/symptoms, and the age of the baby, amongst other factors. A tongue and/or lip-tie release procedure may not necessarily be performed, even if that was the reason for which you and your baby were referred.
For a tongue or lip-tie release to be performed, your baby must have received a vitamin K shot either at birth or at least 24 hours before your appointment.
If you are from Quebec, outside of Canada, or do not have OHIP coverage, please click here to contact our clinic before submitting your appointment request form.
Additional fees will apply and you will be required to pay over the phone by credit card. If the phone is not answered right away, please leave a voicemail message and we will return your call.

Lactation support is not funded by any level of Canadian government. Your support helps us continue to offer the services for which it has become renowned – helping and supporting families to achieve their own breastfeeding goals. It also helps us to provide free support and resources via our website to families and health care providers unable to visit us in person.
Individual donations represent the single largest source of support for ibc. Thank you!
